Economic Merit Medal in Vila Nova de Famalicão

As part of the celebrations marking the 40th anniversary of Vila Nova de Famalicão’s elevation to city status, the Municipality recognised individuals and entities that have contributed to local development.

Among them, Alberto Couto Alves, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACA, received the Economic Merit Medal, in recognition of his business career and decisive contribution to the municipality’s economy.

For more than four decades, Alberto Couto Alves led ACA, transforming it into a national and international benchmark in the construction, engineering, and industry sectors, while never losing touch with his roots in Famalicão. This distinction celebrates not only the history of the city but also the legacy of those who helped build it, embodied in tangible works and the values it inspires: rigour, loyalty, discretion, and courage.

Although unable to attend the ceremony, the tribute was received on his behalf, reinforcing public recognition of ACA’s impact on the community and the local economy.
