New Uruguaiana Popular Market

ACA Construction in Brazil will be responsible for delivering the new Uruguaiana Popular Market in downtown Rio de Janeiro - a landmark project set to revitalise one of the city’s most iconic commercial areas.

The launch was announced by Eduardo Paes, Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, alongside Vice-Mayor Eduardo Cavaliere.
The scheme involves the demolition of the existing structure and the construction of a new commercial centre with approximately 1,600 retail units across 15,600 m². The building will be developed using a steel structure, comprising a ground floor and three mezzanine levels, and will include a supermarket, terrace and aluminium roof with thermal insulation. The design also integrates natural ventilation, energy-efficient lighting, upgraded hydraulic networks and a fire prevention system.
A project that reinforces ACA’s commitment to urban infrastructure that strengthens local commerce and enhances the city.
