Murteira WWTP: a benchmark in technology and environmental commitment

The construction of the Murteira WWTP represents a milestone in the efficient management of wastewater, reflecting AmbiÁgua’s commitment to excellence and sustainability.

In 2016, Águas do Ribatejo entrusted AmbiÁgua with the construction of this facility, equipped with a treatment system using activated sludge in a prolonged aeration regime with MBR (Membrane Bioreactor) technology. The project includes essential processes such as screening, homogenisation and sludge thickening.

Furthermore, the treated water at the Murteira WWTP is reused as service water for the facility’s own operations, optimising resources and reducing environmental impact.

This project demonstrates AmbiÁgua’s dedication to raising environmental standards and ensuring quality service to the community.
