AmbiÁgua developed the Recarei Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), designed to meet the needs of a population of around 1,600 to 1,800 inhabitants.

This project combines a compact, modular system — built with metal containers — with Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology and a secondary treatment process enhanced by high-load activated sludge.

The adopted solution ensures high standards of environmental quality, greater efficiency in liquid-phase treatment, and a significant reduction in execution time and investment costs compared to conventional concrete structures. The modular configuration also allows the installation to be adapted to the community’s future needs, ensuring flexibility and long-term sustainability.
